Privacy policy

Sidekick is a pocket companion for quieter people — conversation starters and what to say in social situations. It helps you pick a room and get notes you can actually use. This page explains how sign-in data is used.

What we collect

If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email and basic profile (name / picture if Google sends them). We use the verified email to create your Sidekick session. We do not request Gmail, Drive, or other Google data.

If you create an account with email and password, we store that email and a hashed password. We do not store the password in plain text.

If you sign in with SMS, we store your mobile number in international format so we can send a one-time login code and keep you signed in. We do not use the number for marketing.

How we use it

Account data is used only to sign you in, keep you signed in (an httpOnly session cookie), show which account is active, and — if you mark a line Helpful while signed in — attach that action to your account in usage records (the room, a short snippet of the line, and that you saved it). We do not sell this data. We do not use Google user data for advertising.

What stays on your device

The web journal and room picks stay in your browser unless you use Telegram, where that journal stays with your Telegram chat. Signing in does not move the journal off this device; it records that you marked a line Helpful so the action is tied to you.
